IMPORTANT COVID-19 RESOURCES

PPE DONATIONS

Texas healthcare professionals are in dire need of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as they work to assist patients in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. TXOGA has been in communications with health-related organizations across the state to help identify, locate and assemble unused or overstocked PPE from our members and affiliated companies that could be donated to hospitals and local healthcare providers.

The Center for Disease Control recommends the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare professionals caring for patients with known or suspected COVID-19:

Powered, Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs)
3M: Versa Flow/Breath Easy
Honeywell PA 700
Max Air

Surgical Face Masks

(3M model numbers:8210, 1860, 1860S, 1870+, Moldex N95 – all sizes)

Eye protection/face shields
Gowns
Tyvek Suits
Gloves

If you would like assistance contributing your excess PPE donations to the State of Texas or specifically to the communities you service, or if you are aware of other companies that may have PPE to donate to this important cause, click here.

PREVENTION

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. For information about handwashing, see CDC’s Handwashing website
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
